Marissa Hakes, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for women across every stage of life. With a passion for empowering women to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, Marissa offers personalized care in areas such as routine gynecology, obstetrics, labor and delivery, contraceptive counseling, menopause management, and preventive health.

Marissa holds an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Le Moyne College. She went on to pursue her advanced education at Stony Brook University, earning her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Midwifery. Her professional certifications include BLS/CPR, NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring, and NRP provider status.

Before joining Upstate Community OBGYN, Marissa gained extensive experience as a labor and delivery nurse. During this time, she provided high-quality care to women with both routine and high-risk pregnancies, managed fetal monitoring, assisted with epidural care, and supported newborn care during critical moments.

With a strong dedication to women’s well-being and a commitment to excellence, Marissa provides patients with attentive and individualized care, ensuring their needs are met with expertise and empathy.
